The Duck Flock

Living recordCurrent

Version 1 · Sep 26, 2026

What changed,
and why.

Created a current flock dossier from the confirmed eight-duck roster while preserving historical observations as dated context.

All history

The current Williams duck flock and the family's living record of integration, laying, feed, pond work, and observations.

A living flock record. Historical observations stay dated; current roster is kept separate from old flock history.

Latest recorded state
  • Eight ducks total as confirmed by K3 on September 25, 2026.

What we learned
  • Integration happened in stages and was uneven; preserve the dated sequence rather than treating one method as universal advice.
  • Soft eggs and laying pauses occurred at multiple points, but the family history does not prove one single cause.
  • Feed and snack observations exist, but no single canonical feed plan has been established.
  • Egg-loss/predator observations are historical and do not yet establish a proven control protocol.
Projects

Permanent duck pond

planned/in development

A permanent low-maintenance pond has been discussed; final design was not established in the source history.

Next steps & open questions
  • Add dated laying and health observations to the living flock record rather than overwriting prior observations.
  • Record the pond design when it becomes final and built.
  • Keep current roster changes separate from historical integration notes.
